Moving on...

I have recently been posting somewhere new.  It can be viewed at:

www.mike-and-kelly.blogspot.com

I started this new one b/c most of my 'friends' blogs that I was following here have almost totally dropped off in their postings.  And I used to have so much fun reading them.  Then I chose blogspot.com b/c I already know several people posting with blogspot.com and I like the site.  So this is a new blog, a new chapter in our life with our new baby whom we have yet to meet.  He was due last Saturday, March 21 but I do know that if he does not come today or tomorrow, we will hopefully see him on Friday b/c they are inducing me that day.  So if you want to see pictures of the new baby, please visit the site above.  There are also preggo pics of me and pics of the nursery posted there already!

Ciao!

R.S.V.P.

Have people just forgotten the meaning to R.S.V.P.?    A friend of mine is throwing a baby shower for me the 24th of January.  Several people have already called my mother to tell her they will not be coming to the shower and a few have told me as well.  What I don't understand is when there is a phone number on the invitation and it clearly states R.S.V.P. why then are they calling me or my mother instead of the person hosting the shower.  I called my friend up yesterday to ask her if anyone had indeed called and yes, one of my friends had called and YAY...it was one of the few saying she was coming.  But I know of 5 people right now that will not be there and did they call the hostess of the shower?  NO!  And one of these friends of mine was a little ticked when people did not R.S.V.P. to her party in december, yet it seems, she may not know the true meaning of R.S.V.P. as well.  I just looked it up online and it says R.S.V.P. means to notify the host/hostess of your intentions one way or another.  So if you can't come, you call and if you can come, you call.  Now, I will give people the benefit of the doubt since the party is still a week away.  But I had a party last year, an Arbonne party, and I think I had to call a few people to ask if they were coming even an R.S.V.P. was clearly written on the invites.  And you know how many people came to that party?  Myself, my mother, and the person demonstrating the product.  Yes...that is all!  Which was fine, at least she got the practice...but it would have been nice to know if anyone was coming or not before the party started.

Currently: December, Piano Solos: 20th Anniversary Edition

Haven't written in awhile

I wish I were motivated to post more often here...I get the feeling nobody really reads it.  Not a big problem, this is more for me than it is for anybody else.  I always wanted to write in a journal and I was great at starting one out but it never really lasts very long for one reason or another, I just find too many other things to attend to.

I was re-reading my last post where I was talking about it being 72 on December 19 which sounds TOTALLY awesome...and now I am dreading the idea of the high being in the mid-twenties tomorrow and potentially the day after as well.  I heard on the radio or perhaps it was weather.com that they forcast us being in below freezing temps tonight through Saturday afternoon.  Lovely!

Welp, last year, I knitted barely anything.  It was like I took a hiatus from the knitting frontier.  But in November, I decided I wanted to knit a pair of socks in a pretty green color that I bought I am guessing 2 years ago in March when I took my jaywalked sock class.  I love to knit socks.  Since we have been getting our house in order, I am seeing just how much yarn I have.  Tons of it which is why I don't buy any new stuff anymore.  My mother talks about buying yarn and going to look at yarn and I ask her to refrain from sharing that with me...b/c I will some if she talks about it and I don't need anything new.  I, however, need a place or someone I can give what I have to so they can use it for a better cause.  I mean who knows if I will ever get around to using all that I have.  So, anyway, I am well on my way wo working on another pair or jaywalker socks and I love it.  I forgot how much I love it.  But like I said, I started the first sock at the beginning of November last year and around Veteran's Day, I picked a copy of Twilight and quickly became engrossed in that entire series...so much so that I have read the series close to 3 times or more.  These are the types of books that I can just pick up and start reading anywhere and just go from there.  So I have had to force myself to stop reading them and do something else...so I am working on a book by Elizabeth Pantley - "the no-cry sleep solution" and also working on knitting my socks.  Perhaps, with my new camera, I can take a picture of my progress to post on here since I used to do that here.  And I can post a picture of my outwardly expanding belly.  Just 9 or so weeks more to go.  I am gearing up for the many showers people are throwing us...one on the 24 th of January, another on the 25th, and then on the 6th of February, I turn 32!  Then I have another shower the 8th of February and at least one more after that at my husband's office...Whew!

We are still working on our house...and no, we do not have a nursery ready nor will we when Michael Henry arrives.  This does not bother me though.  He will just be a baby who will not care about his surroundings too much except that someone is there to take care of him.  I just want to be more organized than I am now.

I wish I had taken before pics of the house so I could share after pics.  Our newly refinished hard wood floors that we painstakingly did ourselves and our new kitchen floor we had installed that we have already received compliments on...I hope this will be a good selling point for the house.  We have had the trim painted and new gutters put on and the old iron supports for the porch have been replaced with some nice white columns.  All the holly bushes/trees were pulled up and mulched and mulch was added to the entire front of the house to cut down on the amount weeds we had growing in the front yard.  We need to implement some landscaping most definitly since that should be a selling point as well but I almost want to leave it be so whoever buys it can put in there what they like but who knows how long in this market it will take to sell our house.  Then the big thing is figuring out exactly where to move to...if I have to keep working after baby comes, then I need to be near my mother...perhaps the time it takes to sell the house and me seeing if I can stand to be away from him for very long will help us make all of those decisions.  We shall see.

Falls last hoorah!

I just looked at the temperature and just came back in from the outside and I kid you not...on December 19, it is 72 degrees outside...now we had freezing rain on Tuesday and today is Friday and on Sunday, they are predicting snow flurries.  That is Tennessee for ya.
